Call for Board of Directors for Friends of Dard Hunter!

Calling all Friends of Dard Hunter!

NOMINATIONS ARE STILL BEING SOUGHT for persons to serve on the Executive Committee Board of Directors (affectionately called ECBOD).

THIS IMPORTANT BOARD guides and oversees the projects, programs and Annual Meetings for the Friends of Dard Hunter. Board members play an important part in the inner workings of our organization and keep the vitality of the Friends ALIVE and thriving.

You may nominate yourself as well as nominate someone who you feel would do a great job and benefit from the Board membership experience.

Please contact Kathy Wosika, Advisory Committee Chair, with any nominations or nominee suggestions as soon as possible. (kw028@mac.com) We need a slate of officers by July or August.

Below is a list of the different positions on the Board and their corresponding Duties. Check them out and see which position fits YOU! Step Up!! Don’t be shy!! You know you want to do it!!

FRIENDS OF DARD HUNTER OFFICER DESCRIPTIONS IN BRIEF:

PRESIDENT (ECBOD, elected 2 yr. term, co-signer of bank accounts)
· official FDH spokesperson, with annual meeting basic registration fee waived;
· initiates policy with ECBOD;
· liaison with Advisory Board.

SECRETARY. ARCHIVIST (ECBOD, elected 2 yr. term)
· prepares, distributes minutes of FDH meetings, ECBOD meetings, actions;
· receives FDH archive materials and deposits them at Ohio University in Athens;
· assists with annual meeting, waiver of basic registration fee.

TREASURER (ECBOD, elected 2 yr. term, co-signer of bank accounts)
· prepares annual budget, and arranges for annual audit & tax return;
· prepares financial statements with Executive Director for ECBOD annual reports;
· assists with annual meeting, waiver of basic registration fee.

VP ANNUAL MEETING (ECBOD, elected 2 yr. term)
· organizes Annual Meeting venue, program, etc., with AM meeting costs waived;
· coordinates planning with site hosts;
· prepares AM budget and timeline;
· prepares web content, forms and registration listing for meeting.

VP COMMUNICATIONS (ECBOD, elected 2 yr. term)
· managing editor of FDH publications, coordinates newsletter with issue editors;
· coordinates annual meeting web content with AM VP and Executive Director;
· prepares budget for publications;
· prepares monthly newsletters with Executive Director;
· assists with annual meeting, waiver of basic registration fee.

VP DEVELOPMENT AND MEMBERSHIP (ECBOD, elected 2 yr. term)
· prepares membership forms, flyers, ads etc. with C VP and Executive Director;
· develops membership initiatives and outreach;
· guides officer nomination and election process;
· prepares welcome packet for annual meeting;
· assists with annual meeting, waiver of basic registration fee.
