Bull & Branch Spring Issue: Call for Papers

Bull & Branch Spring Issue: Call for Papers

A New Crop of Community Papermaking Studios

From its roots, the ancient craft of papermaking has evolved over centuries, encompassing a broad range of forms along the way. Papermaking has been a utilitarian hand-craft, an industrialized process, and expressive art form. The question is: what form is papermaking taking today? This issue of the Bull & Branch highlights an emerging crop of small-scale, community-oriented papermaking studios. Just as Dard Hunter brought a renaissance in hand papermaking, these groups are sharing hand papermaking in a new way: as creative practice that engages, connects and inspires those within their local communities.
