Introducing the Bull & Branch with a fresh new look for 2015!

Arriving soon in your mailbox will be the most recent issue of the Bull & Branch, newsletter of the Friends of Dard Hunter. You'll find this Bull & Branch (and its handmade paper covers) worth the wait!


IN THIS ISSUE


This issue of the Bull & Branch highlights an emerging crop of small-scale, community-oriented papermaking studios. Just as Dard Hunter brought a renaissance in hand papermaking, these groups are sharing hand papermaking as creative practice that engages, connects and inspires those within their local communities.

Pulp & Deckle - Portland, OR - by Jennifer Woodward - A husband and wife team who create artisanal handmade papers and teach workshops at their St. Johns based studio, creating an engaging & lively, community space where students of all experience levels can feel welcomed.

Paper Circle - Nelsonville, OH - by Barbara Campagnola - Paper Circle is dedicated enriching the culture and economy of southeast Ohio through the preservation, advancement and celebration of the paper and book arts.

Paperhouse Studio - Toronto, ON - by Emily Cook - With some cast iron and a whole lot of love, Paperhouse Studio opened in 2013. Paperhouse is a hand papermaking facility in Toronto.

Center for Hand Papermaking - Honolulu, Hawaii - Allison Roscoe - Allison Roscoe, a long time member of the Friends of Dard Hunter, has partnered with her local museum, The Honolulu Museum of Art at Spaulding House, to create a Center for Hand Papermaking.

Zenith Art and Paper Studio - Chicago, IL - by Claire Reines, interviewed by Megan Singleton - Zenith Art Studio generates creativity in the Chicagoland community through classes, workshops, and happenings in papermaking, book arts, and mixed media.

You can now check your membership status online! Make sure your membership is renewed; the Bull & Branch is mailed to current members.

In addition to the Bull & Branch, members receive special art postcards, a monthly e-newsletter sent on the first Tuesday of each month, and access to share doings and happenings on the blog and in the e-newsletter.
