Fredric W. Goudy LECTURE
EXPERIENCE, EPHEMERA, and ENVIRONMENT:
in Artist Books by Irene Chan
Irene Chan
Saturday, October 1, 2016
7:00 p.m.
Scripps College Humanities Auditorium
The Goudy Lecture is free and open to the public

Artist Irene Chan will talk about how her subject matter evolved from working with the ephemeral and the environment in Taoist philosophy to her personal experience of living as an Asian American. Her media are works on or of paper, printmaking, installation art, and book arts. In her one-person storytelling performances, Chan’s artist books start as traditional book forms and then transform into wearables and installation art.
